Films & Documentaries
We develop and produce documentaries and short form films that translate complex histories into watchable, credible stories.
We produce documentaries that bring leadership, events, and institutions to life with clarity and authority. Each film is developed to engage audiences, communicate meaning, and stand as a credible record over time.
Our work includes feature documentaries such as Zayed, narrated by Morgan Freeman, as well as films on leadership, defining events, and institutional milestones. These productions are designed to inform, engage, and endure as authoritative references.
We work across documentary film, short form content, and exhibition media, delivering productions to international standards.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s time at Mons Officer Cadet School
In 1968, Sheikh Mohammed joined Mons Officer Cadet School. Six months of rigorous military training honed his natural discipline, resilience, and strategic vision, and it was there that he honed the leadership qualities that so shaped Dubai’s transformation into a global hub of innovation, ambition, and progress. Almost six decades on, Media Prima traced and interviewed the officers who were witness to his time at Mons and unearthed the documents, images and films that told that seminal story.
The 1973 Japanese Airlines Hijacking in Dubai
It was 1973. Hijacked Japanese Airlines Flight 404 landing in Dubai, where 23 year old UAE Minister of Defence Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum had the lives of 142 passengers in his hands. With events on a knife edge, hijackers threatening to kill a passenger every hour, over 48 tense hours in the Control Tower Sheikh Mohammed won concessions from the hijackers and defused the crisis. Media Prima was responsible for tracing witnesses to those dark days, visiting London and Tokyo to interview witnesses to those shocking events, and unearthing fresh documents, images, audio and films that helped capture the story.
UAE’s Impact Across the Balkans
As the world reeled during the horrific Balkan wars of the 1990s, the UAE was bold and proactive, leading urgent humanitarian aid and diplomatic bridge-building, and deploying troops to Kosovo as part of international peacekeeping efforts, touching the lives of millions of civilians affected by those terrible events. Media Prima’s short film — developed for a major Balkans conference in Abu Dhabi — illustrates that is just part of the story, the relationship extending all the way back to 1963 Skopje earthquake and, in more recent times, becoming a bold connection forged on socio-economic sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture and key infrastructure.
